Train BirdScribe for your region
BirdScribe turns what you say in the field into a ready-to-import eBird checklist. Trailblazers are the first birders in each region teaching it their local bird names, so it works as well in Sussex or Minnesota as it does in Cairns.
Speak your birds, teach it the names it gets wrong, and send in what it has learned so birders in your region can start with them.
How it works
- Bird as normal and speak what you see.
- Correct anything it gets wrong, and tap the lightning bolt to teach it your phrasing.
- Export your learned names and send them in. The ones that work well are added to the app for your region.
Every region needs many voices. The app learns each birder's way of speaking, so no region is ever finished.

What it involves, honestly
Bird normally with the app. A few corrections per walk, the occasional screenshot when something looks wrong, and an exported learned-names file when you have a decent batch.
